This piece is featured in my M.F.A. thesis exhibition, "AMI, The Digital Representation of Women in Western Pop Culture." My mixed media work confronts my personal experiences as a woman growing up in society so heavily guided by American pop culture, including all the media that we consume, which indoctrinates girls into becoming "girls". This piece includes my plastic surgery breakdown sheets from when I first began that journey almost three years ago. Our identities are never as original as we believe them to be.
